IDENTIFICATION OF REFURBISHING IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DRAWING STUDIO

INTRODUCTION

Many specialists from the construction and furnishing industries have defined the term refurbishment in various ways. The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary meaning of refurbishment is the most extensively used and well recognized term. According to Palincsar (2017), it describes refurbishment as the labour done to clean and beautify a room or structure in order to make it more appealing and usable. This simply refers to a programmatic modification of a certain location or item at a specific point in time. The drawing studio requires special consideration to maintain the original studio nature after it has deteriorated, and repair work at different periods must be considered when the new defects are first discovered; when this is considered recently, it can serve as a remedy towards table breakage and studio deterioration. According to Gitomer (2016), these may be misdiagnosed; as a result, the treatments for refurbishing the drawing studio given may fail, and more experience and inquiry leads to beneficial remedies or maintenance plans. As stated by Taylor(2015), refurbishing is sub divided into three types and these are:

1. Life style refurbishing: This involves improving a home and a way of life.  It might involve building a sunroom for pleasure or converting unused attic space into living quarters to meet ones changing needs.

2. Retroit Projects Refurbishing: This usually focuses on home shells or mechanical systems such as

1. Upgrading an insulation system
2. Putting on new siding
3. Replacing a furnace

3. Maintenance and Repair Refurbishing: This project the investment found in a house, workshop, or a room through activities such as:

1. Repair of furniture
2. Caulking windows
3. Reshingling roofs
4. Replacing equestronughs

AIM OF THE PROJECT

The basic aim of this project is to identify the importance of refurbishing in our institutions of higher learning, and also to know the correct types to be used at any point in time.
